The girl and the vulture was a photo taken by Kevin Carter, where an Afghan girl and a vulture are shown in the background, and you can see the harshness of hunger in southern Sudan, where she is cowering, the photograph was taken in 1993. Kevin came across a malnourished girl outside the food aid camps that had fallen there. In the distance, a vulture was prowling. Carter chose a setting in which the bird and the girl told a terrible story of famine and predation in Africa. After the taking of this photograph and its publication, the author of the photo decided to end his life, because the photographer received a Pulitzer Prize for this photo, but they accused him of not having reacted to this situation. We later learned that the girl had been found safe and sound. This photo seems interesting to me, for all the history behind it and for the number of feelings that are transmitted through an image.
